Boca Del Rio – Veracruz

Boca del Río is a city in the Mexican state of Veracruz situated 107 km to the southeast of Xalapa. The city stands right in the mouth of the Río Jamapa as it runs into the Gulf of Mexico. (Boca del Río translates as river mouth).

Boca del Rio initial popularity is due to its beautiful beaches, however there is a lot more to this picturesque town than sun and sandy beaches. Boca del Río is also famous for its delicious coastal cuisine and seafood restaurants.

Over the years the distinctions between Boca del Río and Veracruz city have been eroded by urbanisation and now the two cities flow together connected by the Camacho boulevard that runs along the gulf.

Getting to Boca del Río

The nearest airport is General Heriberto Jara International Airport located just outside Veracruz city. There are also good rail links from the cities of Xalapa, Veracruz and Mexico City.
